Performance
The Dahon Speed D7 has a lot of changes throughout the year and you might see some variations of the bike. It can come in some different color options like blue, black, orange or obsidian red. The newest version has a black exterior with red accents on rims, seat tube clamp and logo. I bought the Speed D7 last year and received the blue one.
A great advantage of the older version is that it is equipped with a rear rack and fenders. The total weight is more than 27 lbs but it it manageable thanks to the compact folded size.
In terms of performance, I don’t see any difference between this one and the Speed P8. This is not a speedy bike as my average speed is always slower than 13mph. However, the bike targets people living in crowded cities, so the speed is totally acceptable. Moreover, I feel very comfortable riding the bike for more than 30 minutes, the saddle is soft and gear shifting is smooth. All those things make my riding experience quite enjoyable.

I believe I just increased your sales of the Dagon Speed D7 by 5 bikes. At our recent RV camping rally I had high interest as I rode my D7 around the campground. I got my used, 2007 Speed D7 from a Craiglist find last September. Apparently, it had been kept in a storage unit for some years until someone bought the contents and found this. Switched the tires over to some Schwalbes and threw a Bafang 750W onto the bottom bracket. Now this thing is the perfect, compact, speedy little commuter/touring rig!!
