The Swagger is actually my first electric scooter, and with the small size, I thought it would be difficult to ride. However, I totally changed my opinion right at the moment I stepped on the scooter.

Riding the Swagger is pretty straightforward, I even didn’t need to read the manual to get started. After taking it out of the box, I just attach the hand grips and the kickstand, open the handlepost and everything is ready. I appreciate that the LED headlight is integrated onto the handlepost, it’s very bright and I don’t need to attach any other accessory to the scooter.

All controls are placed on the handlebar, including the handbrake, throttle, and a display. You can see there are 3 buttons next to the display, including the power button, and up/down button to change gears. All adjustments will be shown on the display. Here you can see the current speed, the current gear, battery level, odometer, rotation speed, traveling time, and some other indicators.

The scooter features 5 gears with the maximum speed of 5 mph for gear 1, 7.5 mph for gear 2, 10 mph for gear 3, 12.5 mph for gear 4, and 15 mph for gear 5. The motor is powerful enough to help me overcome some low inclines. Dealing with some steeper inclines is not a problem since it can get some boost from my feet. Notice that the small wheels are designed for smooth and flat roads only, you should slow down when riding on uneven terrain or when hitting road bumps or potholes.

The deck has a sandpaper textured layer to avoid foot slippery. I also love that the scooter is very well-balanced, you will still stand steadily on it even at low speed. The folding and unfolding processes are also extremely easy as you just need to open and close the latch at the base.

This is among the most beautiful vehicles I’ve ever used. You won’t see a mess of wires like others. I got the white color and the design is so eye-catching. It gets a lot of attention on the road and people are even more amazed when I fold it down and carry it with my hand effortlessly. The Swagger boasts to be the world’s lightest carbon fiber electric scooter and it is very lightweight indeed. The total weight is just over 17 lbs while similar products often weigh 20-32 lbs. Another great news is that the Swagger is fully TSA compliant, so you can bring it onto an airplane.

The battery life of the scooter is not really impressive. I could ride approximately 6 miles for mixed use, including night rides with the LED light on. The number is way lower than the 5-15 miles stated in the spec sheet. The charging time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. I’ve heard some complaints of the battery, so I will keep using it and update the review if anything arises.

  • Compact and lightweight
  • Beautiful design
  • Easy to use
  • Powerful motor

  • Average battery life

Swagtron has done almost everything right with the Swagger Folding Electric Scooter. It would be perfect if the battery life could be a little longer. We at BikeFolded.com highly recommend the product.

  1. I purchased the Swagger Electric Scooter (Black) and love it! But I see the White Scooter has a back red reflector on the foot break and the black model I have doesn’t. How/where Can I order the back red reflector for my scooter when riding at night (NY) for safety? Please Respond ASAP.

    • You probably bought the old version. Both the black and white Swagger have the reflector. You should contact the manufacturer directly to get it.

      • I just got mine from a seller on Facebook I don’t know if this is the older version I have no light also in the back but mine got a shock on the front . Is this the old version?

  2. I have the Razor E300 and I am planning to get another eScooter. I think this is going to be one of my options. Thanks for the info. -Walter

  3. This is a nice review of the swagger. I can’t believe that such an awesome foldable electric scooter with carbon fiber is worth less than 400 usd, actually I just ordered mine on Amazon from your link and it is currently retailing at 299.99 USD. Looking forward to riding it and giving a feedback about its performance.

  4. I’ve had my scooter for two months now and ride it to work daily. I put about a mile on it per day. I think it’s a great scooter but I have one problem. The scooter has started to fold as I’m riding it. Yes I make sure it’s locked into place before I ride it. Why would my scooter fold like that? It folded as I was crossing a highway and made me crash. Luckily I’m ok. I love my scooter, I just really need to know why this keeps happening.

  5. I live in Seattle, which rains 9 months out of the year. My daughter tried to use a bike her 1st year at U.W. It’s a big campus and it saved lot’s of time by having a bike. But it’s also very inconvenient to ride and take care of the bike on rainy days!

I spent lots of time online to try to find her an electric scooter — something lightweight with good reviews and not overpriced. With not many choices out there, I purchased this Swagtron (from a local store).

It’s been 13 months now and we are still very happy with this purchase! Although it’s advertised as “not for rain”, for 8 months, she rode it 5 days a week (rain or shine) 2.5 miles each day. Light mist or pouring down rain, it still works perfectly. She protects the handle bar and charging port from the rain with a plastic wrap.
